On a wet and blustery sunday afternoon the whites league campaign kicked off against the defending champions Maghery. The Whites started the match playing with the wind knowing that a lead would need to be built in order to have an advantage to try and hold onto in the second half. In the early stages the whites quickly established a dominance in midfield thanks to the presence of Aaron Findon and Ryan Kelly, with the forwards taking advantage of that superiority by slotting over some fine scores from the dead ball and from play.

This was to be their final score of the first half as the Whites came into the game and started tagging on a couple of points.
