St Peters Under 13s V St Brigids

The U13 girls played their second league match of the season on Sun 1st May at Ballyhegan in which they had a very good win of 8-11 to 0-0.

Although the score would show that the forwards performed well it was a very good team effort with the defence doing an excellent job in ensuring that St Brigid’s remained scoreless.

A special mention must be made for Grace Lennon and Grainne Scullion who both took a turn in nets for us when our regular goalkeeper Seana McGarry was unavailable.

St Peters Under 14s V Killeavy Under 14s

U14 girls first League match of the season was not a happy event.

We travelled to Killeavy with plenty of enthusiasm and hope but unfortunately we met a very strong U14 Killeavy team that contained at least 6 of the U14 County players.

However the Lurgan girls did not drop their heads at any stage and fought from the first ball to the last kick which was quite encouraging.

Sinead Duffy was excellent in nets, with Demi Maguire, Shannagh Genesi and Emer O'Neill battling hard in defence.
