St Peters Under 13s V St Brigids

The U13 girls played their second league match of the season on Sun 1st May at Ballyhegan in which they had a very good win of 8-11 to 0-0.

Although the score would show that the forwards performed well it was a very good team effort with the defence doing an excellent job in ensuring that St Brigid’s remained scoreless.

A special mention must be made for Grace Lennon and Grainne Scullion who both took a turn in nets for us when our regular goalkeeper Seana McGarry was unavailable.

Best on the night for St Peter’s were Niamh Murray, Shannagh Genisi and Niamh McDonald in defence, while up front Hannah Abraham, Caitlin McQuaid and Emer Hendron were excellent.

It is very difficult not to mention the entire team as everyone did a good job with some very good passages of play resulting in some great scores, especially when the ball was moved from defence into attack.

Our next match is on Sunday 8th May at home against Mullabrack at 6.00pm.

Everyone is welcome to come along and watch this emerging young team play with enthusiasm and effort, it would be great to have support for these girls especially from their family members.
